Dagli anni del Liceo, con i primi consigli paterni, dalla collaborazione con Ernesto Buonaiuti fino alle letture della piena maturità, alla direzione delle collane di testi filosofici, agli incontri con Eugenio Garin o Marie-Dominique Chenu, che scandiscono i molteplici itinerari di un rapporto con i libri esemplare e magistrale. Narrazione libera di un metodo di studio e di ricerca mosso non solo dalle esigenze della professione di storico della filosofia, come neppure dall'acribia del filologo o dal collezionismo del bibliofilo, ma dal piacere dei libri, anche di quelli che lui stesso definisce 'inutili'.   • Tullio Gregory reconstructs his relationship with books and the assembling of his library, tracing back the story of the meetings with various texts and researchers, which were paramount for his formation. Gregory describes his path, from the years of the High school, when he received Intellectual advice from his father, from the collaboration with Ernesto Buonaiuti, to the readings of his full maturity, to the direction or editorial series of philosophical texts, to the meetings with Eugenio Garin or Marie-Dominique Chenu, marking the multiple itineraries of an exemplary and masterful relationship with books. The article is the free narration of a method of study and research, which was not only moved by the needs of his profession as a historian of philosophy or by the acribia of the philologist, or by the passion of the bibliophile, but also by the pleasure related to books, even those that he himself defines 'useless'.
