  • Narrating women's lives, through words or images, often means to fill gaps in our memories. This was the intent of the project which this paper refers to. The documentary on Anna Maria Lorenzetto, still a work in progress, and the article proposed here, come from a need to acknoledge an almost forgotten protagonist of the XXth century, whose role has not been sufficiently highlighted by official historians and gender studies scholars. More than a blatant willingness to forget, we refert to omissions, bland references, sometimes an inexplicable downsizing. In fact, the figure of Anna Lorenzetto has never been the subject of a comprehensive study specifically dedicated to her. In this paper, there is no pretention to weave an exhaustive biography here, just a desire - far from any agiographic or celebratory intent - to reconstruct her story. [Publishers' text].
