  • Luigi Dei is Rector of the University of Florence. A professor of chemistry and a worldfamous scholar of materials chemistry, he has published numerous scientific articles in international journals. In addition to research, he is also engaged in the communication of science and in writing literary works of a genre he himself has invented and dubbed “science fantasy”, which employs fantasy and imagination to channel the communication of real science. He is also active in the social media, which he considers an important instrument for the transmission of culture and science. He has composed a number of conferenceperformamnces on science and music as well as a scientific-civilian drama inspired by Primo Levi.
