Teoria e pratica della formazione dei capi intermedi negli anni del miracolo economico : la Montecatini a Ferrara

  • Il contributo presenta le modalità con cui, negli anni Cinquanta, la Montecatini applicò le nuove tecniche per la formazione dei capi intermedi importate dagli Stati Uniti (il Training Within Industry). Dopo l'esposizione degli adattamenti che l'impresa milanese apportò, viene analizzato il case study del primo petrolchimico italiano costruito nel 1950 a Ferrara. Questo caso dimostra che non si trattò di una semplice importazione meccanica dei metodi americani, ma che la Montecatini fu in grado di muoversi cautamente e di modificare, in base alle sue esigenze, le teorie originarie. Proprio la formazione dei capi intermedi permise alla Montecatini di costruirsi un sistema di consenso che durò per molti anni.   • This article shows how Montecatini applied the new training techniques coming from the United States ("Training Within Industry") in the 1950s. After the description of the Milanese company's adaptations, the paper analyses the case study of the first Italian petrochemical industry, that was built in 1950 in Ferrara. This case shows that there was not just a simple mechanical import of American methods, but Montecatini was able to move cautiously and to modify the original theories, according to its needs. Precisely the training of intermediate level managers allowed Montecatini to build a consensus system that lasted for many years. The article concludes with an examination on the changes that were already emerging at the beginning of 1960's. [Publishers' text].
