Una vita, forse due : Carlotta Orlando, appunti per una biografia

2018 - Franco Angeli

129-151 p.

  • The author investigates the complex biography of Carlotta Orlando (1902-1997), the last daughter of Vittorio Emanuele Orlando. She was educated in an important family, but she disapproved of the model represented by her mother and during the fascist era, she decided to live in New York for twenty years. Becoming part of international and interconnected networks, she collaborated with Lauro de Bosis within the Italy-America Society; she was influenced by American women's associations and above all by the League of Women Voters. Between 1946 and 1947 she founded the National Women's Voters Association (Ande) still active in Italy. [Publishers' text].
