Da Wilson a Trump : gli Stati Uniti e il senso della missione
2017 - Franco Angeli
5-17 p.
This article identifies the main issues in President Woodrow Wilson's understanding of America's global mission, examines the reshaping of U.S. internationalism since 1917, and assesses which characteristics of that policy are still viable after Donald J. Trump started his term at the White House. As the U.S. standing in the world generally plays an ancillary role to domestic concerns in the incoming president's agenda, the notion of «peace by strength» seems to be the only present-day surviving feature of wilsonism.
