- In this essay, the author highlights the importance of rebuilding the context of the significant affective relationships of the patient to gain a better understanding of her internal world. To achieve this, it would be beneficial to integrate family therapy with individual sessions. This approach would allow to involve the family while building a shared meaning of suffering that the patient is experiencing, and whereas possible, give them the possibility to "repair" to non-welcoming or unemotional manners. Literature offers a solid support for the creation of integrated settings when accepting complex patients and when situations appear blocked, as the one described above. [Publisher's Text].
