Perspectivas contemporáneas en la investigación en la lengua inglesa

The first section of this edited volume focuses on the study of the English language and its linguistic study, but also in its practical and pedagogical applications and approaches. In this day and age, in the twenty-first century, both the practicalities of teaching and the analysis of English in academic contexts demand approaches that necessarily go beyond traditional approaches. The expert now must also embrace the pragmatic, cultural, multimodal and sociolinguistic dimensions of language and language use. The chapters that follow explore these areas through recent work in the mentioned areas: Applied Linguistics, Education, and Translation, showing how the language, cultural and contextual factors interact to (re)shape the way English is understood, acquired, and used in diverse contexts and settings.
