  • The SMP funerary tradition of the Mantuan plain is documented by more than 70 burials, found in recent stratigraphic investigations; the authors offer an update of the salient characteristics of burial disposition, grave goods and personal ornaments. In the first phase, beyond strong relationships with bordering areas, Emilia and Trentino, local tradition can be singled out such as the elaboration of Early Neolithic items among gravegoods; the successive phases, not yet well defined, seem to reflect the interaction, already known in the area, between II and III styles.
