E proprio i due termini di ‘linguaggio' e ‘stile' guideranno il percorso, intendendo con linguaggio l'espressione radicata e consolidata di presupposti formali e visivi che derivano direttamente dal genius loci, e con stile quanto una cultura locale mutua e assorbe da culture diverse, fino a renderle proprie.   • The text constitutes the outline for learning and in-depth analysis necessary for the knowledge of the discipline of history of graphics; the recipients are mainly students of the University of Genoa, who attend the course of study in Product and Nautical Design, and students of the Beijing University of Chemical Technology with which a double degree agreement is active. The aim of the text is to propose themes, to propose points of view and examples on which to reason together in order to deduce their nature, language and style. And the two terms ‘language' and ‘style' will guide the approach, considering language as the rooted and consoli-dated expression of formal and visual assumptions that derive directly from the tradition of a place, and as style as much as a local culture mutates and absorbs from different cultures.
