The article is based on the experience acquired by the Italian law enforcement agencies in the field of international cooperation and recalls the main applicable legislative sources, as well as the latest operational techniques. A particular emphasis is laid on the implementation of common policies and shared systems, not only in order to combat illicit trafficking, but also to prevent crimes and fight against their related causes.
