  • L'articolo discute la diffusione dell'inwork poverty (IWP) nei paesi europei, mostrandone le caratteristiche principali da un punto di vista comparativo. Innanzitutto presentiamo i diversi approcci alla definizione del problema negli Stati Uniti e in Europa, distinguendo l'interazione tra famiglia, mercato del lavoro e politiche di welfare. Nella terza sezione, vengono analizzati i tassi di IWP e dei lavoratori a basso salario, mentre nella quarta sezione presentiamo le principali caratteristiche di IWP confrontando i paesi europei. Il risultato principale della nostra analisi è che i classici cluster di regimi di welfare possono spiegare solo parzialmente la quota e le caratteristiche dell'IWP nell'UE. [Testo dell'editore].
  • The article discusses the presence of inwork poverty (IWP) in European countries, showing its main characteristics from a comparative point of view. We firstly present the different approaches to the definition of the problem in the USA and in Europe, disentangling the interaction among family, labour market and welfare policies. In the third section, the rates of IWP and of low wage workers are analysed, while in the fourth section we present the main characteristics of IWP comparing European countries. The main result of our analysis is that the classic clusters of welfare regimes may explain only partially the share and the characteristics of IWP in the EU. [Publisher's text].
