  • The Inventory points out the wealth and importance of the documents collected in the Historical Archives of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples or “de Propaganda Fide”'. It is a precious tool for scholars interested in the history of the missionary Church and the civil, cultural and religious history of peoples. The first edition of the Inventory, edited by Father Kowalsky, was published in 1961 by the "Neue Zeitschrift für Missionswissenschaft"; the second (1983) and the third (1988), published by Urbaniana University Press in English and Italian, were edited by Father Josef Metzler, his successor at the head of the Historical Archives [bilingual, English - Italian edition]. La prima edizione dell'Inventario, curata da P.
